San Antonio College\, will address the Rotary Club of San Dimas\, providing an in-depth overview of the college's impactful history and achievements. Established in December 1945 on what was once a World War II army and navy hospital site\, Mt. SAC was originally named Eastern Los Angeles County Community College before being renamed in honor of the nearby Mt. San Antonio\, also known as Mt. Baldy.\n\n \n\nSince opening its doors in September 1946\, Mt. SAC has grown into one of California's largest community colleges\, serving nearly 20 local communities and educating over 1.2 million people. The college is federally designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI). Mt. SAC offers an extensive array of programs\, with 379 degrees and certificate programs\, and is renowned for its strong transfer rates to four-year institutions and its role as a leading provider of workforce training.
