California State Treasurer Fiona Ma: Financing the Future of the Golden State
On May 20, 2026, at 12 noon, the Rotary Club of San Dimas will welcome California State Treasurer Fiona Ma for a timely and insightful presentation titled, California State Treasurer Fiona Ma: Financing the Future of the Golden State.
As California’s 34th State Treasurer, Fiona Ma serves as the state’s primary banker for the world’s fourth-largest economy. Her office processes approximately $3 trillion in payments annually, manages an investment portfolio exceeding $150 billion, and oversees more than $80 billion in outstanding bonds that fund schools, roads, housing, hospitals, recycling initiatives, and other critical infrastructure projects that directly impact our communities.
Treasurer Ma will discuss how the State Treasurer’s Office helps finance California’s future through responsible fiscal stewardship, strategic investment, and innovative public financing tools. She will highlight efforts to promote economic growth, strengthen transparency and accountability, and expand investment in clean energy and advanced transportation through programs such as the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority (CAEATFA).
Drawing on decades of public service—including leadership roles in the State Assembly and on the Board of Equalization—Treasurer Ma brings a solution-oriented approach to complex economic challenges. Her remarks will offer valuable insight into how state-level financial leadership supports local development, strengthens communities, and positions California for long-term economic resilience.
This presentation will be of particular interest to business leaders, community advocates, and residents who want to better understand how fiscal policy and public finance shape the future of California.
