About Us

Judging By The Cover is an independent, woman-owned bookstore in Downtown San Dimas with a simple mission: books + community. We carry new books across every genre, with a special love for titles that get people talking -- thrillers you stay up too late reading, romance you can't stop texting your friends about, and quiet little life-changers that sit with you long after the last page.

Inside the store, you'll find a cozy, come-as-you-are space where people linger, talk, and feel like they belong. We host monthly book clubs (everything from Horror to Mood-Read), craft-based workshops we call "craftivities," author events, and the occasional totally random idea that just feels fun... like a LEGO Build & Sip or an Audiobook Walking Club.

We're also proud to support local authors with consignment and in-store events, and we make it easy to keep reading however you prefer: audiobooks through Libro.fm, shipped books and ebooks through Bookshop.org, and real-time recommendations at the checkout counter.

Whether you're looking for a new favorite read, somewhere to spend a rainy afternoon, or a place to meet other readers who get way too emotionally invested in fictional people, you're welcome here.
