Protecting Public Health: Mosquito & Vector Control in the San Gabriel Valley

The Rotary Club of San Dimas welcomes Anais Medina Diaz, Director of Communications for the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito & Vector Control District, for an informative presentation on how the District protects the health and quality of life of residents throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
Ms. Medina Diaz will discuss the District's mission to reduce mosquito and vector populations through an integrated approach that includes public education, surveillance, biological and chemical control, habitat modification, research, and partnerships with local agencies. Attendees will also learn about current and emerging vector-borne disease threats, including West Nile virus, practical steps residents can take to reduce mosquito breeding around their homes, and the important role the public plays in preventing the spread of disease.

This timely presentation will provide valuable information for homeowners, businesses, and community leaders interested in protecting their families and neighborhoods while learning more about one of the region's essential public health agencies.
